Piano accompanist

Ian has accompanied Allen Vizzutti, broadcast live on BBC Radio 2 with the Childs Brothers and recorded music by Huug Steketee with euphonium virtuoso Lyndon Baglin. He is in regular demand as an accompanist for soloists and choirs, and has worked with Bristol Choral Society and City of Bristol Choir.
Ian started learning the piano at a very early age, receiving the highest marks in the country for Grade 8 Guildhall School of Music piano examination at the age of 15; he was subsequently awarded a scholarship to study postgraduate piano accompaniment at the Royal College of Music.

Tuba player

Ian has toured Italy as principal tuba with the London Brass Virtuosi, recorded Music for Brass and Percussion (Hyperion) and has performed with, amongst others, the Wilbraham Brass Soloists and Sun Life Band.
He gained an ARCM and ALCM diploma in tuba performance at 18 and received tuition from many of the world's finest orchestral tuba players including John Fletcher, Patrick Harrild (LSO), John Jenkins (Philharmonia), Dan Perantoni and Dennis Miller (Vancouver Symphony Orchestra). Ian was awarded scholarships to the Banff Center for Fine Arts, where he studied with the legendary Armando Guittalla, the Canadian Brass Ensemble and the Royal College of Music.
